FAQ

Q.   Is Starlink any good?

Starlink beats any other satellite internet service hands down. It is faster, more reliable and has much lower latency.
People in rural and regional Australia are taking up Starlink in droves.

Q.   Is Starlink good for gaming?

While Starlink is certainly better for gaming than traditional satellite service, it isn't quite as good as land based services. Latency spikes are possible when the system swaps satellites (~ every 4 minutes). Different types of online games make different demands of an internet connection. You may want to research how others find Starlink performs for the kinds of games you are interested in playing.

Q.   Is Starlink available in the Hunter Valley?

Starlink is available across the whole of the Hunter Valley. You will find the coverage map here

Q.   How much power does Starlink use?

The system will use around 175 watts for the first few minutes after it is switched on (while the dish is aligning itself). After that it will use between 50 - 75 watts.

Q.   How much does the installation cost?

A standard single story residential installation costs $549.   If you require a taller mount due to nearby trees, or you are in a multi storey house, you will be advised of the cost for your circumstance before any work begins.

Q.  Do you supply the starlink dish?

We do not supply the Starlink dish or router.  You can order your Starlink kit from Starlink, Bunnings, JB HI-FI, Officeworks, or Harvey Norman

Q.  Do you supply the mount?

Yes, we supply an Australian made mount designed for Australian roofs. The standard mount we supply is included in the price of an installation.

Q.  Can I use the mount that came in the Starlink kit.

Possibly. Many people prefer the the look of the Starlink dish on their roof with a low profile mount, like the one supplied in the kit.
They are, however, not designed for Australian roofs. It may be possible to add mounting hardware inside your roof to accommodate these mounts.
This can be assessed when we arrive.

Q.   What areas do you service?
